Notifications and reminders

On a busy building or interior project, things change all day long. Someone leaves a comment, a task lands on your plate, a card moves forward. Notifications are how Wyroo keeps you in the loop without you having to keep checking. This page explains where notifications show up, how to turn browser alerts on, how reminders on your notes work, and how to control what you receive.

Wyroo can tell you about activity in three ways. They work together, so you can pick what suits you.

  • In-app notifications. A bell icon sits in the sidebar with a small count of unread items. This is always on. Open it any time to see everything that has happened.
  • Browser push. A pop-up alert from your browser, even when the Wyroo tab is closed. You choose to turn this on, per device. It works on a phone too if you add Wyroo to your home screen.
  • Email. A short summary email (a “digest”) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus invitation emails when someone adds you to a company or a project.

Tip: You do not have to use all three. The in-app bell catches everything. Add push if you want to know the moment something happens, and keep the email digest if you like a calm overview a couple of times a week.

The bell in the sidebar shows how many notifications you have not read yet. Click it to open your notification center, a list of everything from newest to oldest. Each item shows:

  • An icon and colour for the kind of activity (a comment, an assigned card, a mention, and so on).
  • A short message in your own language saying what happened and who did it.
  • When it happened.

Click any notification to jump straight to the thing it is about, for example the card or comment in question. There is also a Mark all as read action to clear the unread count in one go.

Notifications update live. If you are looking at the bell while a teammate assigns you a card, the count goes up on its own. You do not need to refresh the page.

Push alerts let your browser notify you even when Wyroo is not the active tab. To switch them on:

  1. Open Settings and go to Notifications.
  2. Under Enable on this device, click Enable push notifications.
  3. Your browser will ask for permission. Choose Allow.

That device now appears in your list of Active devices. Repeat the steps on each computer or phone where you want alerts. To stop alerts on a device, click Disable on this device, or remove it from the device list.

Tip: On an iPhone or iPad, push only works once you add Wyroo to your home screen. In Safari, tap the Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”, open Wyroo from the new icon, and turn push on from there. Wyroo shows this hint for you when it is needed.

If you see a message that notifications are blocked, your browser is holding an old “deny” choice. Open the browser’s site settings for Wyroo, allow notifications, then come back to the page.

Your personal notes (private to you, separate from the project board) can remind you about anything you do not want to forget. When you add or edit a note, set a Reminder date and time. When that moment arrives, Wyroo sends you a reminder, and in your notes the item shows the time left, or “Overdue” once it has passed.

A reminder is just for you. Because you set it on purpose, it is always sent and does not depend on your other notification settings.

You are in control of how much Wyroo pings you. Open Settings, then Notifications, to set things up.

  • Browser push triggers. Under “What should push you?” you can switch each kind of alert on or off. By default Wyroo pushes the high-signal ones: when someone @mentions you, when a card is assigned to you, and when someone asks for or is granted access to your project. Chattier ones, like every comment on your cards, are off until you turn them on.
  • Email digest. A single switch turns the twice-weekly summary email on or off. The digest gathers your mentions, cards that are due, and unread updates so you do not have to.

A few things worth knowing:

  • New kinds of alerts always start switched off, so you are never surprised by a flood of pings.
  • Push settings are per device, but the trigger choices (which kinds of events alert you) apply to your account.
  • Turning push off on a device does not affect the in-app bell. The bell always keeps a full record.

Tip: If a project gets noisy, leave mentions and assignments on and switch the rest off. You will still hear when something genuinely needs you, without the constant buzz.
